Lamb Stew with Chops Recipe
If you are on a strict time limit and would like to be able to prepare an authentic dish for your dinner guests, you can just prepare this lamb stew chops cecipe. This dish is very easy to make, moreover, it is quite affordable. You can allow this dish to cook while you go tend to other household duties or even changing your clothes.
Ingredients
8 Lamb Necks or Chump Chops 4 Bacon Rashers, cut in strips 1 teaspoon Flour 3 Carrots, cut in thick slices 1 ½ lb. Potatoes, peeled and cut in thick slices ½ lb. Cabbage, sliced thinly 1 Small Leek, cut in thick slices 1 Brown Onion, cut in 16 wedges 17 ounces Beef Stock 1 tablespoon Canola Oil 3 tablespoons Butter 2 tablespoons Parsely, finely chopped
Directions
Over high heat, heat the oil and butter in a large saucepan.
Add the lamb chops and brown each side.
Cook the bacon until it becomes crisp. Remove and allow to rest on a paper towel.
Sprinkle the flour onto the dish and mix.
Remove the pan from heat and layer half of the potato, bacon, and carrot on the base of the dish.
Arrange lamb in one layer over bacon. Cover with layers of the remaining bacon and vegetables.
Pour in just enough stock to cover and bring to a boil, over high heat.
Reduce heat. Cover and allow to simmer for a minimum of 1 ½ hours or until meat becomes very tender and the sauce has reduced slightly.
Season lamb stew chops recipe with parsley before serving.
Tips
This dish can be served to more than 4 persons if you make it part of a general menu. Baked potatos make a good side dish.
